Your Impact:

Our Certified Uptower Repair Wind Technicians perform up-tower repairs and diagnostics on components such as Generator Bearings, Slip Rings, Rotor & Stator Cables, Gearbox HSS, IMS, Yaw Drive, Generator Exchanges, and Trunnion Pins. Tasks include cleaning, organizing, minor assembly, troubleshooting, and climbing towers at heights of at least 300ft. Certifications must be maintained. The role involves 100% travel, typically on a 6-week on, 1-week off rotation.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct safe repairs to Wind Turbine electrical systems.
  2. Possess detailed knowledge of generators, converters, controllers, and electrical equipment.
  3. Read and interpret schematics from various Wind Turbine manufacturers.
  4. Required turbine experience with GE, SGRE, and Suzlon preferred.
  5. Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures as an authorized person.
  6. Support lifting operations following skills verification.
  7. Maintain GWO Certification, available through Pearce Training if needed.
Core Experience:
  1. Experience with GE, SGRE, and Suzlon turbines.
  2. Knowledge of lifting/hoisting operations.
  3. Generator and gearbox bearing exchange experience.
  4. Ability to use digital and analog calipers.
  5. Experience in small to medium corrective work.
Physical/Work Environment:
  1. Climb turbines at heights of 300+ feet.
  2. Maintain weight between 120-280 pounds for safety compliance.
  3. Lift equipment over 50 pounds.
  4. Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including exposure to pollen, dust, and grasses.
