Job description

To assist the principal in providing leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of a Charter School to promote student development and achievement in accordance with UPrep Schools policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and law.

Systems Management

  • Assist in resource allocation to support school improvement.
  • Build and maintain a safe, orderly environment addressing students' academic, social, emotional, and physical needs.
  • Provide support services and accommodations for students.
  • Lead staff in evaluating and improving educational programs, including curricular and extracurricular activities.
  • Assist with the school’s budget and financial matters following district policies.

Instructional Leadership

  • Conduct classroom observations, identify effective teaching practices, and understand pedagogy to enhance student learning.
  • Support staff in developing professional knowledge, skills, and practices through differentiated learning opportunities.
  • Help teachers set professional goals for instructional improvement.
  • Assist in developing and managing school programs aligned with district goals.
  • Encourage ongoing professional growth and experimentation with new teaching strategies.
  • Coordinate staff and district program efforts to develop and implement instructional practices.

Ethics and Professionalism

  • Act ethically and professionally in conduct, relationships, decision-making, and resource stewardship.
  • Prioritize student success and well-being, providing moral leadership and promoting ethical behavior among staff.
  • Ensure adherence to UPrep policies and procedures.
  • Maintain employee records, manage collective bargaining issues, and address human resource matters.
  • Follow all contract provisions and report to work reliably.

Education and/or Experience
