Job Description

We are currently seeking a General Manager for our new restaurant opening in Woodland Hills, CA.

Saint & Second is an upscale American, full-service restaurant in Belmont Shore, Long Beach, featuring craft beer, cocktails, an eclectic menu, and unique wines. We are looking for passionate individuals to grow with us.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Staffing responsibilities including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and separation
  • Lead specific departments such as operations, planning, development, ordering, inventory, scheduling, etc.
  • Assist with purchasing, storage, usage, and rotation of food and beverage supplies, minimizing waste and loss
  • Create a positive team environment that encourages accountability and high standards of food, beverage, service, and hospitality
  • Manage and engage team members, promote teamwork, fair treatment, and respect; lead with passion and commitment
  • Deliver excellent guest service, including greeting and engaging with guests
  • Resolve guest complaints effectively and politely
  • Handle administrative tasks such as cash handling, financial reporting, goal setting, legal compliance, and reporting
  • Maintain safety and sanitation standards, perform safety inspections, and ensure legal compliance
  • Provide regular operational reports to management
  • Support other team members during absences or high volume
  • Assist in achieving financial goals, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions
  • Control costs through portion control, waste minimization, and quality assurance
  • Collaborate with sales and catering teams for events
  • Enforce all applicable laws and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Time management skills and meeting deadlines
  • Leadership skills, including performance evaluation and disciplinary actions

  • Proficiency with restaurant equipment and software (POS, HRIS, draft beer systems, etc.)
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene policies and laws
  • Understanding of restaurant operations and food/beverage knowledge
  • English proficiency
  • Basic computational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to work evenings, holidays, and weekends
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 21+ years old
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1+ years of restaurant management/supervisory experience; 2-5 years preferred
  • Ability to pass background check
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates, bachelors, or higher degree preferred
  • ServSafe or equivalent Food Safety Manager Certification
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Standing for entire shifts, frequent reaching, bending, lifting (up to 75 pounds), handling tools, walking, sitting, and reaching. Exposure to hazards, noise, and various environmental conditions. Reasonable accommodations available.
