Job summary

Fisher Island Club is seeking a full-time Food Runner for its Beach Club. The role supports servers, keeps stations stocked, and ensures timely service of hot foods. The environment offers a luxury resort experience with extensive dining and event operations.

Responsibilities include setting up banquet areas, assisting with service throughout events, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety practices. Requires a HS diploma and at least six months in a similar dining setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months’ work experience in a similar dining environment.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles during emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Assists servers.
• Ensures all service stations in the kitchen are stocked and ready for service.
• Ensures plated hot food leaves the kitchen quickly.
• Carefully matches all food items to correct orders.
• Carries food trays to tables using the correct seat positions on the ticket.
• Maintains cleanliness of service stations in the kitchen and keeps kitchen floor safe and clear.
• Ensures that bread, soup, and other food products are available.
• Ensures that all items in “to go” orders are correctly assembled and labeled.
• Wipes up spills or drips on rims of dishes and maintains plate presentation.
• Assists Server Assistants in the dining room with clearing soiled dishes, refilling water, and setting up the dining room.
• Opens meeting rooms and function areas prior to meetings and events.
• Empties trash from meeting rooms and function areas.
• Verifies that all scheduled functions are set per Banquet Event Orders.
• Keeps public areas adjacent to banquet functions clean and orderly.
• Sets up event spaces with tables, chairs, glassware, china, and related items.
• Inspects equipment for defects and reports maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Sets lighting, props, floral arrangements, decorations per Banquet Order.
• Prepares all banquet functions for the following day as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
