Job summary

AMETEK Solidstate Controls in Columbus, Ohio seeks a Test Technician to test, troubleshoot, and repair battery chargers, inverters, and regulators at pretest and final test stages.

Responsibilities include testing UPS equipment, interfacing with customers for factory acceptance testing, and recommending procedure changes. Requires a 2-year electronics degree (or military equivalent), 5+ years in power electronics, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• Two year degree in electronics or military equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years experience in power electronics.
• Experience with 480 to 600VAC and currents over 1,000A preferred.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with an hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Testing, troubleshooting, and repair of UPS equipment such as inverters, rectifiers, chargers, static switches, AC regulators, and associated equipment.
• Interface with customers for factory acceptance testing as required.
• Recommend Test Procedure changes.
• Provide Technical support to customers over the phone.
• Any additional tasks as deemed necessary.
