Job summary

Ampace Technology Limited is seeking an Electrical Engineering professional to supervise on-site UPS installations and battery pack commissioning. You will inspect wiring, test insulation, and ensure proper power-on and balancing procedures.

You will diagnose faults on-site and remotely, work with rectifiers, inverters, and control boards, and enforce NFPA 70E and OSHA safety standards while documenting reports and training customer staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or related field.
• Solid AC/DC circuit fundamentals; familiarity with UPS architectures and battery systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise on-site installation and commissioning of UPS units and battery packs; perform wiring inspections, torque checks, insulation testing, and commissioning reports.
• Troubleshoot UPS and battery faults on-site and remotely; locate faults in rectifiers, inverters, batteries, cabling, sensors and control boards.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance of battery systems; monitor voltage, resistance, temperature and insulation, maintaining records.
• Enforce electrical-safety standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA, LOTO, PPE) and manage on-site risks including DC faults and thermal runaway.
• Explain fault causes and train customer staff; complete commissioning records, work orders, inspection reports, and spare-parts management.

Job description

Responsibilities:

1. 1. Supervise on-site installation and commissioning of UPS units and lithium battery packs — wiring inspection, polarity, torque, insulation testing, power-on, float/boost setting, balancing, and discharge testing — and prepare commissioning and acceptance reports.
2. 2. Troubleshoot UPS and battery faults on-site and remotely — voltage anomalies, charging issues, overheating, alarms, mode-switch failures — locating faults across rectifiers, inverters, cells, cabling, sensors, and control boards.
3. 3. Perform inspections and preventive maintenance — cell voltage, internal resistance, temperature, connection tightness, calibration, charge-discharge and insulation testing, and LOTO-safe operations — with equipment records and battery-health tracking.
4. 4. Enforce electrical-safety standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA, LOTO, PPE, arc-flash protection) and manage on-site risks such as DC short circuit, thermal runaway, and electric shock.
5. 5. Explain fault causes and solutions to customers, train their O&M staff, and complete commissioning records, work orders, inspection reports, and spare-parts management.

Requirements:

1. 1. Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
2. 2. Solid AC/DC circuit fundamentals; familiarity with UPS double-conversion architecture and rectifier/inverter/bypass logic; battery-system knowledge including float/boost charging, internal resistance, capacity, balancing, and thermal runaway.
3. 3. Able to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams; skilled with multimeters, clamp meters, internal-resistance testers, and megohmmeters.
4. 4. Experience in UPS installation and commissioning, battery maintenance, or data-center operations and maintenance.
5. 5. High-voltage electrical-safety awareness (LOTO, live-working specifications); strong service mindset; able to travel frequently and handle emergency repairs.
6. 6. Authorized to work in the United States.
