Job summary

SHORE UP! Inc. is seeking classroom substitutes for Early Childhood and Head Start programs in Maryland. You will assist teachers by planning and delivering activities that support children’s development in a safe, healthy setting.

Responsibilities include following schedules, implementing lesson plans, maintaining order, and communicating effectively in English as needed. This is a contractual role with weekday hours from 8 am to 4 pm across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or in progress.
• Ability to implement lesson plans in early childhood settings.
• Maintain safe, healthy learning environments.

Job Description

Classroom substitutes for Early Childhood and Head Start programs assist Teachers in planning and implementing learning experiences that advance the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of children within a safe, healthy learning environment.

Ability to perform the essential functions of the job which includes, but is not limited to, the ability to:

• Work independently.
• Follow a schedule.
• Implement lesson plans.
• Maintain classroom management.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English language when deemed necessary.

Position Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Position Characteristics

• Pay Rate: $60 for half a day or $120 for a full day.
• Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm.
• Classification: Contractual.
• Location: Salisbury, Snow Hill, Eden, Crisfield, Princess Anne, Stockton, MD.
