Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Successful teaching experience with students performing below grade level.
• Experience working with middle and high school students preferred.
• Knowledge of how the referral process works in private schools, as well as with HISD or other local education agencies.

Responsibilities

• Participate as an active team member to support the Office of Student Support’s vision in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
• Provide diagnostic and prescriptive services for students.
• Review student records and discuss pertinent information with classroom teachers.
• Provide direct instruction to students individually or in small groups.
• Support teachers by sharing expertise and assisting with multi-level instruction.
• Develop and maintain students' personal learning plans with teachers, parents, and division personnel.
• Maintain accommodations sheets for each student.
• Communicate with parents at reporting periods and participate in interviews as needed.
