A leading educational institution seeks an Upper School Spanish teacher to foster student growth through engaging lessons and assessments. Fort Worth Christian School is accepting applications for an Upper School Spanish teacher to partner with the Upper School Administration and teaching faculty to execute a visionary plan for modern learning while equipping students for a life of faith, service, and leadership for Christ.
Prior teaching experience at the high school level is strongly preferred, along with an understanding of the essential nature of establishing positive and encouraging relationships with high school-aged students. Applicants must be able to work cooperatively with all members of the staff and communicate effectively with parents. Coaching experience and willingness to invest in this area are desired.
Responsibilities:
Introduce Spanish material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments and lesson plans that guide and challenge students
Collaborate with the Foreign Language department to develop lesson plans, teaching strategies, and interventions
Prepare students for formal and informal assessments
Grade essays, tests, quizzes, assignments, exams, and other assessments
Communicate with parents, students, teachers, and counselors regarding student performance
Assess student needs and provide support or extra resources to students
Use technology to improve lesson delivery and record keeping
Encourage students to think independently and to express original ideas
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment
Qualifications:
Demonstrate a strong Christian testimony and be a member of a Bible-believing church
Committed to living and teaching a life of service to Christ in accordance with theFWC Statement of Faith and Beliefs
Pursue knowledge of trends, developments, and new technologies as they relate to teaching Spanish at the secondary level
Have a bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) from an accredited college or university related to teaching Spanish at the secondary level.
