Our ethos embodies our dedication to fostering a sense of wonder and the relentless pursuit of wisdom. This philosophy permeates every aspect of our institution, from our rigorous academic curriculum to the harmonious structure of our daily interactions and celebratory traditions.

Ascent Classical Academies embarks on a noble quest, providing our students a well-rounded American classical education and guiding them through an enriching exploration of the Great Books, advanced studies in mathematics and sciences, and the intricacies of Latin language. We also encourage active involvement with the wider community, stewardship of the natural world, immersion in the fine arts, and participation in a variety of extracurricular clubs and athletic competitions. Beyond academic rigor, we are committed to nurturing a transformative and vibrant school culture characterized by joy, mutual respect, and profound engagement.

We are a fellowship of scholars and explorers, united in our quest for what is truly noble, inviting our students to join us in a life pursuing the True, Good, and Beautiful, and the fulfillment of human potential. An education at Ascent Classical Academies extends beyond mere preparation for college and career; it is an entreaty to embrace the most enriched life imaginable - preparing our students to flourish in life and to be good citizens.

Our Core Virtues

These are the cornerstone of what we strive to develop in our students, which are:

  1. Courage

Position Specifics

The discipline of mathematics strips away all subjectivity regarding reality. Through mathematics, the teacher guides students to confront the abstract and engage in the uniquely human capacity for purely rational thought. Logic and reason in every discipline owe their structure to mathematical principles. In helping students discover these principles, the young mind is shaped into a powerful tool of reason. Robust training in mathematics prepares students to test possible truths against established principles, and even discover new truths by building on the work of those who have come before. In the first year, teachers will be needed for Pre-Algebra and Algebra I, but there will be opportunities to teach all mathematical subjects up to Calculus as the academy grows.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Create a safe classroom environment for all students to learn and reach their fullest potential.
  2. Create thoughtful and well-planned lessons while adhering to the curriculum.
  3. Maintain an orderly classroom.
  4. Provide timely and meaningful evaluation/correction of student work.
  5. Engage students utilizing the Socratic method.
  6. Lead students through intelligence, charisma, humor, moral integrity, and example.
  7. Perform additional assigned campus duties.
  8. Follow school policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of students.
  9. Provide reasonable assistance to students in need of individual help; assist students to make-up work after approved absences.
  10. Communicate regularly and as needed with parents.
  11. Attend special school events (e.g., information sessions, concerts, plays, presentations).
  12. Attend all staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  13. Support and enforce the school dress and behavior codes and make reasonable efforts to promote the orderly behavior of all students.
  14. Evaluate and document the student’s daily work, keep gradebook updated, monitor and inform parents of any deficiencies, and prepare the grade reports.
  15. Attend and participate in review meetings with the Headmaster/designate.
  16. Pursue excellence in teaching and continue to develop knowledge of the great ideas and works of Western Civilization.
  17. Maintain regular, punctual attendance. Maintain professional appearance and adhere to relevant health and safety procedures.

Benefits

  1. Employee-only coverage for group medical, dental, and vision plan; dependent coverage available.
  2. Health savings account with employee contributions.
  3. Short- and long-term disability and life insurance plans.
  4. Retirement investment account with employer match.
  5. Voluntary benefit options.
