Job summary

Oak Hall School in Gainesville, FL seeks an Upper School Mathematics teacher to advance a dynamic program across Algebra I–Calculus and AP courses. The role emphasizes critical thinking, problem solving, and addressing diverse learners within a welcoming community.

The teacher will plan and revise curriculum, sponsor a math-related club, advise students, and collaborate with the Math Department to ensure high standards and student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate work in Math or closely related discipline required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Ability to teach classes across the middle and high school math curriculum, from Algebra I through AP Calculus BC.
• Ability to teach additional STEM electives preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills, including serving as a mentor and advocate for students.
• Be comfortable and adept with the effective use of technology in the learning process.

Responsibilities

• Actively support the mission of the school in all aspects of student engagement.
• Teach 5 sections of Math; courses may include Algebra I/II, Geometry, Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Calculus BC.
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curriculum, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction as needed.
• Attend AP Summer Institute to stay current with course content.
• Prepare and deliver Math curriculum in an engaging manner; maintain high levels of learning for all students.
• Co-sponsor a math related club or competition team; advise a group of assigned students.
• Be available to advise and assist students; maintain professionalism with all constituents.
