Upper School Biology Teacher (Grades 9-12)
The Covenant School, an independent Christian Liberal Arts & Sciences school in Charlottesville, Virginia, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Biology teacher to join our Upper School science faculty for the 2025-26 school year. Our school, which serves over 760 students from Pre-K through Grade 12, is a gospel-centered community of faith and learning, rooted in the Western Liberal Arts tradition, focused on the formation of the whole person—mind, body, and soul. Our faculty leads with an incarnational approach that seeks to equip and inspire students to live well through service to God and others.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in life sciences, including laboratory techniques and safety protocols, and be committed to the holistic formation of children within a Christian Liberal Arts & Sciences curriculum. Specific teaching duties will include teaching a college-prep Biology course in Grade 9. Candidates must have the ability to inspire students’ love of learning and critical thinking and integrate faith and academic rigor seamlessly into the classroom experience.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biology, education, or a related field;
Proven experience teaching high school science;
Experience teaching Honors-level science courses (preferred)
