The Nueva School seeks an enthusiastic Upper School Assistant Varsity Coach for Girls’ Basketball for the November through February season. You will coach players, develop game strategies, teach rules and techniques, observe performance, and help student-athletes grow teamwork and sportsmanship.

A background in basketball coaching, club level experience, and the ability to work well with administrators, parents, and students are valued.

Qualificações

• Some experience as a basketball coach or club level is preferred.
• Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
• Must have working knowledge of the sport's rules, regulations, techniques, and strategies.
• Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and student-athletes.

Responsabilidades

• Coach and instruct players, individually or in groups, regarding the sport's rules, regulations, equipment, techniques, and tactics.
• Observe players during practice and competition to determine individual or team improvement needs.
• Determine game strategy based on the individual and team’s capabilities.
• Establish and maintain high standards of behavior and supervise athletes at all times.
• Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
• Observe school, league, state, regional, and national athletic program regulations.
• Model positive behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, parents, officials, and spectators – practice good sportsmanship.
• Employ nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
