Description

Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP), a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for girls in grades 6 - 12 located in Towson, Maryland, seeks a full-time teacher in our Social Studies Department for the 2025 - 2026 school year. This position will involve teaching sections of Upper Level Social Studies including Economics, Government and History.

Annual dates for the 10-month position are August 16th to June 15th (as well as attending new employee orientation in mid-August 2025).

Responsibilities:

  • Teach 5 out of 8 class periods each day.
  • Work collaboratively with members of the Social Studies department on developing/improving curriculum.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned, such as advisory.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in History required.
  • Masters degree in History/Social Studies preferred.
  • Maryland State Teacher Certification and demonstrated expertise in the teaching of economics /government/history preferred.
  • A passion for teaching economics /government/history to high school students.
  • Ability to integrate technology effectively into instruction.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of the Social Studies department and the NDP community.
  • A commitment to Notre Dame Preparatory School’s mission of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and practice of social justice.

Annual salary is $45,000 to $70,000 based upon degrees and experience.NDP offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental and vision), spending accounts (HCSA, HSA, FSA, DCSA), 403b Plan with employer contribution, employer paid short- and long-term disability, employer paid life insurance as well as generous paid time off (sick, personal, holidays and other school closures).
