Qualifications

We are currently looking for upper level math teachers to provide personalized instruction in Math from Algebra to Calculus and SAT/ACT prep. As a part-time Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in small groups as each student has a unique learning plan. Evening and weekend hours available. If you aspire to inspire, then we want you on our team.

Base pay range

$15.00/yr - $20.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Teach 3-4 students an hour using Sylvan based programs
• Supervise, interact with, and motivate students during instruction hour while they work with equipment and materials
• Reward students for completed assignments
• Evaluate and document student progress
• Communicate student needs to the Center Director and Director of Education
• Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment
• Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan
• Bonus Opportunity: Explore the role of a Travel Tutor position with additional incentives. Travel Tutors should possess reliable transportation (carpool options may be available) and a willingness to conduct on-campus instruction at local schools, maintaining a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 8:1.
