Job summary

Sylvan Learning in Riverside, CA is seeking an upper-level math teacher for part-time instruction. You will teach in a small group (3:1), focusing on Math and SAT/ACT prep across topics from Algebra to Calculus. Evening and weekend hours are available to fit student needs.

You will use Sylvan curricula, monitor progress, and maintain a supportive, motivating classroom. Strong communication and tutoring experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Preferred Bachelor's Degree required.
• Advanced knowledge of calculus, algebra 1 & 2, geometry, and trig.
• 2 years teaching or tutoring experience preferred.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Teach using Sylvan based programs in small groups.
• Supervise and motivate students during instruction hour.
• Reward students for completed assignments and track progress.
• Evaluate and document student progress with the center director.
• Develop rapport and maintain a positive, engaging learning environment.
• Inspire students and foster a love of learning.

We are currently looking for upper level math teachers. As a part-time Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group, 3:1 setting. You will provide personalized instruction in Math and SAT/ACT prep. Students of all levels will need assistance on material ranging from Algebra to Calculus. Evening and weekend hours available. Requirements:

• Preferred Bachelor's Degree required
• Advanced knowledge and familiarity with teaching or tutoring in the areas of calculus, algebra 1 & 2, geometry and trigonometry
• 2 years teaching or tutoring experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task
