Job description

Indy West Christian School is seeking a committed Christian educator to join our team as a full-time Upper Elementary Teacher for grades 7-8 for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate demonstrates a passion for Christian education, a heart for students, and a desire to help young minds grow academically and spiritually.

As a member of our dedicated faculty, you will prayerfully guide students in cultivating knowledge, skills, and Christ-centered character, empowering them to grow into mature and responsible Christian men and women for the glory of God.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Education)
• Valid Indiana Teacher License required
• ACSI Certification (or willingness to obtain within first year)
• First Aid & CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
• Proven ability to relate well to students, staff, and parents
• Committed to a Biblical worldview and Christian philosophy of education

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide engaging, standards-based science instruction to grades 7-8
• Integrate Biblical principles and Christian worldview into all lessons
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment
• Plan and submit weekly lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
• Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and school board
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
• Maintain accurate student records and assessments
• Equip and encourage students in their walk with Jesus
• Participate in school events, parent conferences, and staff meetings
• Support extra duties (lunch, recess, car line, etc.) as assigned
