Job summary

Springmont School in Atlanta, GA seeks an AMI-trained Upper Elementary Lead Guide for the 2025–2026 year. The role centers on AMI-aligned instruction for ages 9–12, collaboration with a teaching team, and guiding each child toward independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Ideal candidates hold AMI 6–12 certification, a bachelor's degree in education or related field, and at least 2 years of lead Montessori teaching.

Qualifications

• AMI 6–12 certification is required.
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• At least 2 years of lead Montessori elementary teaching experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to authentic Montessori practice.
• Experience with neurodiverse learners and high emotional intelligence.
• Comfort with outdoor education and overnight trips to the land school.
• Strong collaboration skills with children, families, and colleagues.
• Passion for fostering independence, curiosity and love of learning.

Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate AMI-aligned instruction for students ages 9–12.
• Create interdisciplinary, inquiry-driven lessons for the second plane of development.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Utilize Transparent Classroom for record-keeping and communication.
• Collaborate with student support staff to implement accommodations.
• Maintain a prepared environment and model conflict resolution.
• Lead annual overnight trips to the land school.
• Communicate regularly with families and write class newsletters.
• Participate in staff meetings, PD, and school events.
