Job summary

Border/Zipper Sewer position in Conover, NC involves sewing borders and installing zippers for upholstery. You will read tickets, prepare fabrics, thread machines, and assemble border components to spec in a collaborative production setting.

Hours are Monday–Thursday 6:30am–4:00pm with some overtime; a high school diploma and strong communication skills are valued, with 3+ years of upholstery sewing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma helpful.
• Good communication skills – verbal and written.
• 3+ years’ experience in production upholstery sewing in an upholstered furniture manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read ticket and job notes for directions and specifications before sewing.
• Piece borders together and run welt in them; install zippers in backs, ottomans and pillows to spec.
• Thread/re-thread sewing machines; maintain safe operation procedures.
• Work with other sewers in a team oriented production atmosphere.
