Job summary

Leggett & Platt’s Genesis Seating location in Grand Rapids, MI seeks an Upholsterer to support upholstery and assembly of fabric and leather furniture components. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and runs 5am–3:30pm, Monday–Thursday with Friday shifts as needed.

You’ll use hand tools and a staple gun, meet production schedules, and ensure quality and safety standards. Training and growth opportunities are available in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• One to three months related experience and/or training.
• Language Skills: read, interpret safety rules and manuals; write reports; speak to groups.
• Physical Demands: stand, use hands, lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work Environment: loud, near moving mechanical parts.

Responsibilities

• Perform upholstering and assembly of fabric and leather components.
• Use hand tools and staple gun to secure materials.
• Meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Interpret specifications and work orders; suggest improvements to methods and safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and accurate production records.
