Job summary

Colonial Group in Newton, North Carolina, is seeking an upholsterer for furniture manufacturing. The role involves constructing and repairing upholstered furniture by covering frames with leather, cotton, or suede, using a staple gun.

You will work in a production setting with standing most of the day, bending, and potential heavy lifts up to 100 pounds. Candidates must be at least 18 and able to work well in a team; medical and retirement benefits are provided.

Responsibilities

UPHOLSTERER FOR FURNITURE MANUFACTURING

An upholsterer will construct or repair upholstered furniture by covering the furniture frame with materials such as leather, cotton or suede.

Responsibilities:

• Attaches fabric/leather to the arms, backs, seats and outside backs to wooden frames using a compressed air staple gun.
• This job requires continuous stapling with one hand while pulling the material with the other hand to complete the sofa, loveseat, chair or ottoman according to specifications.
• Physical requirements are standing all day, bending, occasionally may have to lift 80 to 100 pounds.
• Follow all safety procedures while performing the position
