Job description

To ensure the maintenance and conservation of the vessel’s upholstery, carpets, wallpapers, and other related elements.

POSITION INFO :

Responsible for the maintenance and repairs of furniture in guests and crew accommodations, including public areas, bars, theatre, lounges, restaurants, and other venues throughout the ship.

• Manage upholstery equipment, inventory, and consumables.
• Assist guests with repairing broken luggage, bags, shoes, etc., as required by the Guest Services Manager.
• Participate in safety drills and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Wear the prescribed uniform, protective clothing, badge, and insignia.
• Follow health and safety regulations.
• Ensure the ship is sufficiently, effectively, and efficiently manned according to port minimum safe manning requirements for safety and security.
• Fluent in reading, speaking, and writing English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
• Have basic mathematical skills for calculations involving proportions, ratios, and measurements.
• Possess knowledge of materials and tools involved in construction or repair.
• Exhibit excellent skills in sewing, carpeting, wallpapering, textiles, and related areas.
• Pay close attention to detail, with practical and problem-solving skills.
• Have relevant carpentry knowledge.
• Perform finishing upholstery work that meets quality standards while minimizing material waste.
• Minimum of three years of professional experience as a skilled tailor/upholsterer.
