Job summary

CF Industries is seeking an Upgrade Plant Day Supervisor/Trainer to provide day-to-day operations leadership while owning operator training, documentation, outage planning, problem solving, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, Environmental teams and site leadership to strengthen safe, reliable plant performance.

Job Summary:

The Upgrade Plant Day Supervisor / Trainer provides day-to-day operations leadership while owning key elements of operator training, operations documentation, outage planning, problem solving, and continuous improvement. The role works closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, Environmental, vendors, and site leadership to strengthen safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Operator training: Lead the operations training program, ensure consistent progression-cycle training, document continuing education, evaluate operator readiness, administer tests, and participate in panel reviews.
• Procedures and documentation: Manage and continuously improve SOP/SOCL programs, LOTO forms, checklists, guidelines, reading sheets, training materials, and other operations documentation.
• Outage and turnaround planning: Lead operations planning for isolation, decontamination, shutdown, startup, LOTO, and other major outage/turnaround activities; help define operations scope and detailed execution plans.
• Continuous improvement and projects: Identify, develop, organize, and lead long-term improvement projects and support capital/project planning for the UPG plant.
• Change implementation: Support routine MOC development and provide operations leadership and guidance during implementation of plant changes.
• Safety and environmental leadership: Lead and support safety and environmental initiatives and reinforce safe operating practices across the UPG plant.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Facilitate effective communication within Operations and with Maintenance, Engineering, contractors, vendors and suppliers.

Key Competencies & Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of Upgrade plant equipment, unit operations, procedures/SOCLs, operator responsibilities, and key performance/safe-operation indicators.
• Working knowledge of DCS, SIS, alarms, interlocks, and plant process control systems.
• Strong leadership, planning, organization, prioritization, and change-leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
• Strong troubleshooting and structured problem-solving capability, including RCA, 5-Why, and cause-and-effect techniques.
• Detail oriented with a strong commitment to learning, developing new skills, and continuously improving work processes.
• Strong computer skills, including SAP, Microsoft Office products, and PI.
