Job Title: Strategic Marketing & Business Development Representative

About the Company:

We are a globally active technology leader pioneering advanced CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide) thin-film solar cell solutions. Our lightweight, high-efficiency photovoltaic technologies are designed for high-performance applications including spacecraft, satellites, high-altitude platforms, and terrestrial systems. As we expand our footprint in the aerospace and energy sectors, we are seeking a dynamic professional to lead our business development and strategic marketing efforts in North America.

Position Summary:

This is not a conventional marketing role. We are looking for a Business Development & Strategic Marketing Manager with deep knowledge of the aerospace ecosystem and a strong network within the industry.

The ideal candidate will possess a technical background in aerospace engineering or a related field, coupled with a keen understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and value propositions for advanced solar power solutions.

This role combines industry-facing business development with high-level strategic marketing, aiming to identify opportunities, cultivate relationships, and position our company as a go-to provider of next-generation solar arrays for aerospace applications.

Candidates must be either located within commuting distance of Los Angeles or willing to relocate prior to the start date.

  • Key Responsibilities:Business Development & Client Engagement
  • Identify, approach, and build relationships with key decision-makers across satellite, spacecraft, and aerospace system integrators.
  • Leverage existing networks to establish new business partnerships and explore joint development or co-marketing opportunities.
  • Work closely with engineering and executive teams to tailor technical proposals and value-driven business strategies.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and technical forums to promote brand and product awareness.
  • Stay current on trends and regulatory developments in aerospace and energy sectors to guide strategic direction.
  • Strategic Marketing & Positioning:Develop and execute targeted go-to-market strategies and campaigns that reflect deep technical understanding and customer needs.
  • Craft compelling messaging and content for proposals, product decks, white papers, and case studies.
  • Lead competitive market analysis to identify differentiators and emerging opportunities.
  • Collaborate with international HQ to align global strategy with local market execution.
  • Operational & Contractual Coordination
  • Oversee the drafting and execution of NDAs, client/vendor agreements, and MoUs with partners.
  • Maintain a CRM system and documentation related to business opportunities, proposals, and contract milestones.
  • Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical/business field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic marketing in the aerospace, satellite, or defense industries.
  • Strong network of industry contacts within OEMs, primes, government space agencies, or satellite manufacturers.
  • Technical fluency in spacecraft systems, solar array applications, and related technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead technical business conversations and align product offerings with customer mission needs.
  • Excellent presentation, proposal writing, and communication skills.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and capable of operating in a startup-like, globally coordinated environment.
  • Preferred Skills:MBA
  • Familiarity with CIGS, photovoltaic systems, or space power technologies.
  • Experience working with international partners or clients.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), and ability to interpret technical data into actionable marketing insights.
