Job summary

Synchrony Systems Inc in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Unix/Perl Developer to build, maintain and support applications using Unix and Perl. This onsite full-time role offers a salary range of $100K to $115K plus client benefits.

The ideal candidate will also work with C, IBM MQ, Sybase, CGI, Apache, and mainframe connectivity, contribute to performance tuning and database design, and collaborate across teams to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Unix and Perl scripting for application development and support.
• Working knowledge of C programming, with the ability to make minor code changes, compile, and deploy.
• Experience with messaging systems, preferably IBM MQ.
• Good working knowledge of Sybase databases.
• Strong experience in query tuning and database design/modeling.
• Experience with mainframe connectivity, including tools such as Shadow Direct.
• Working knowledge of CGI programming.
• Experience with Apache web servers.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities
