Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Jersey City, NJ, seeks a hands-on developer to design, maintain, and support applications using Unix, Perl, C, CGI, and web technologies. You will work with IBM MQ messaging, Sybase databases, and Apache web servers to deliver reliable systems.

You will join a collaborative team, handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and participate in deployments and post-production support to ensure quality and stability across core applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Computer Science or related field required.
• Strong Unix and Perl development experience for apps.
• Hands-on C programming with ability to modify & deploy.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and support apps using Unix and Perl.
• Perform minor enhancements and fixes in C programs, including deployment.
• Work on IBM MQ messaging interfaces for system integration.
• Write, optimize, and tune database queries; aid DB design improvements.
• Manage connectivity with mainframe systems.
• Develop and maintain CGI-based components and web modules.
• Support apps on Apache web servers and troubleshoot issues.
• Monitor performance and handle production incidents effectively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery.
• Participate in release cycles, deployments, and post-production support.
• Ensure timely task delivery while maintaining quality and stability.
