Job description

University of the Fraser Valley – Senior Advisor, Human Resources

ID: 25-1160 Location: Abbotsford, BC

The Senior Advisor, Human Resources (“Sr. Advisor”) provides guidance and advice regarding the interpretation, administration and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and collective agreements in a unionized environment. The Sr. Advisor actively promotes and supports the effective management of the UFV workforce by creating strategic business partnerships with client groups in a variety of academic and service areas.

The Sr. Advisor works with specific client groups to deliver HR services in the area of recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, labour and employee relations, job evaluation and job design. As a member of the excluded management team, the Sr. Advisor plays an important leadership role in the development and implementation of HR initiatives.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a progressive HR professional to make an impact at a thriving institution. Leveraging a strong grounding in labour relations, the Sr. Advisor will provide a wider range of HR support services to their client portfolio, which includes both academic and administrative departments. UFV is unique in that has a single bargaining unit for both faculty and staff, creating a “stand alone” LR context. This is a newly created position, joining an engaged team of four existing colleagues in similar roles, reporting to the Director, Advisory Services & LR.
