Faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT Health East Texas facilities.

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is growing and looking to hire a Cardiovascular Surgeon with the interest and ability to perform cardiovascular surgery, to join our clinical faculty and regional Level 1 Trauma Center.

About this Cardiovascular Surgeon Job Opening:
  1. Full-Time Employment (1.0 FTE)
  2. Academic, Inpatient/Outpatient
  3. Expected Open Heart Cases: 600 per year
  4. Join a team of 2 Cardiovascular Surgeons, 4-6 Nurse Practitioners, and support staff
  5. 1st Assist for vein harvesting available
  6. Level 1 Trauma Center serving the East Texas region
  7. On-Site Heart Valve Center (MitraClip, TAVR, valve replacement) with 9 cardiologists
  8. Referrals coming from cath lab and valve center
  9. EMR: Epic
Minimum Requirements:
  • ABS board certification or eligibility as Cardiovascular Surgeon
  • Surgical Fellowship Training in Cardiovascular Surgery
  • Experienced and graduating Cardiovascular Surgery Physicians are encouraged to apply!

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its mission is to train future healthcare professionals to embrace responsibility for the unique needs of rural and hard-to-reach communities and populations, particularly those in East Texas.

The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, enabling graduates to gain specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia.
