Job summary

Description:
Second assistant coach opening for the University of Alabama men’s tennis program. Position is open to applicants with U.S. citizenship who are interested in coaching and earning a graduate degree thru the UA Online master’s program. Qualified candidates will need to possess an
undergraduate degree and have played college tennis. Playing experience at the Futures, Challenger or Tour level is preferred but not required. College, junior or private coaching experience is a plus.

GA will assist head and assistant men’s coaches with daily practice plans, individual training sessions, fall tournament and spring dual match competitions. Additional assistance with clothing/equipment management and fulfillment, budgeting, travel, tournament organization
and recruiting could be part of weekly routine, however, primary focus will be on-court assistance with training and competition.

Graduate program will be online only. Go to https://online.ua.edu/ to gather additional information on master’s degree offerings, requirements and program length. It is preferred that the degree earned will be over the course of two academic years which will incorporate two full tennis seasons.

Compensation will include full tuition and course material for graduate program, a meal plan at the Alabama Athletic Department dining hall, a parking pass and a monthly stipend of $1,000 during the academic year (typically used to subsidize monthly rent). Additional income will be earned through the current men’s tennis clinic and camp programs, as well as private lessons in the community.
