Job summary

The University of Kansas, in the School of Education & Human Sciences, seeks University Supervisors for the 2026-2027 year. The supervisor guides teacher candidates in developing teaching competency and liaises with PK-12 partner schools during student teaching.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education or related field and at least 5 years PK-12 teaching or administrative experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and university faculty.
• Available during the regular K-12 school day for supervision.

Responsibilities

• Attend online orientation each semester and monthly program meetings.
• Conduct observations for student teachers, with two to three observations depending on term length.
• Review lesson plans prior to observations and provide feedback.
• Submit formative and summative evaluations using STAR protocol.
• Hold conferences with student teachers and clinical supervisor after observations.
• Foster positive working relationships among clinical supervisor, student teacher, and school principal.
