Job summary

Kansas City University seeks a Director of University Events to lead planning and execution of all on-site and off-site events across campuses. You will manage budgets, vendor contracts, speaker arrangements, and logistics for ceremonies, conferences, and donor events.

Role requires strong communication, leadership, and collaboration with University Relations and campus operations. Occasional travel to Joplin campus is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, communications, marketing, or related field.
• Five to six years in event planning and execution.
• One to two years' experience in budget development and management.
• Extensive customer contact exposure.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate all college events, including commencements, white coating, pinning, hooding, and fundraising events.
• Coordinate donor receptions and social events with campus staff/clients.
• Oversee budgets, contracts, and vendor negotiations for events.
• Manage on-site logistics, catering, security, and equipment for events.
• Travel to coordinate events between Kansas City and Joplin campuses as needed.
