Job summary

The Psychologist at Counseling Center (CAPS) at the University of Kansas collaborates with the Associate Director for Training to provide clinical services, including individual and group therapy, workshops, outreach and supervision.

The role also supports CAPS functional areas such as trainee supervision, outreach programming, consultation with faculty and staff, and administrative duties to advance student mental health and well-being.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree from an APA accredited program and one year of related professional experience.
• Successful completion of APA accredited doctoral internship in Psychology.
• Permanent or temporary licensure as a psychologist in Kansas within 2 years of hiring date.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services including individual and group therapy, workshops, outreach and supervision.
• Deliver student/client direct services, including evaluations and treatment planning.
• Train and supervise graduate students, interns and practicum students.
• Participate in outreach and prevention activities and present programs on student mental health.
• Handle administrative tasks, attend meetings and contribute to CAPS team objectives.
• Engage in professional development and peer consultation.
