Job summary

Northeastern University UHCS seeks a Counselor and Psychotherapist to provide psychological counseling services to students, including crisis intervention and brief psychotherapy. The role collaborates with academic departments and UHCS staff to ensure comprehensive care, referrals, and outreach.

Evening/overnight pager availability is required. Required: a Master’s in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling and full state licensure (LICSW/LMHC/LMFT/Psychologist) with relevant experience, plus

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
• Full state licensure as LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or Psychologist with relevant work experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of principles of Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
• Experience in urgent/crisis assessment and short-term psychotherapy.
• Experience collaborating with health centers, academic support, and community providers.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work within university health center policies and support diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical services including triage, assessment, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, documentation, and campus/community referrals.
• Provide psychoeducational programming and outreach to the University community.
• Participate in training and supervision with Behavioral Health and Medical staff.
