University of Indianapolis seeks a University Controller reporting to the Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration. This role oversees accounts payable/receivable, ensures GAAP-compliant financial reporting, and guides audits, tax compliance, and internal controls.

The Controller leads accounting and student billing teams, fosters professional development, and partners with senior leadership to support institutional goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• At least 8 years in accounting or finance with 2+ years in a managerial role.
• Higher education or nonprofit financial management experience is preferred.
• Experience with financial statement preparation and auditing.
• Proven leadership and team development track record.

Responsabilités

• Oversee GAAP financial statements in line with FASB and related frameworks.
• Coordinate annual external audits with auditors.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax reporting and audits.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable and cash management processes.
• Lead internal controls and risk management to protect university assets.
• Manage procure-to-pay system implementation and operation.
• Mentor accounting and student billing teams, promoting professional development.
• Advise EVP Finance & Administration on financial strategy and resource allocation.
