Job summary

Eventide Sheyenne Crossings is seeking a Part Time Universal Worker to support tenants with safe personal care, cleaning, laundry and activity planning. Evening and weekend rotation may apply, with shift options 7:00a-11:00a or 7:30a-1:00p.

The ideal candidate holds a North Dakota CNA license; CMA I is preferred or obtainable. Responsibilities include ADL support, meds observation, vital signs, nutrition, documentation and collaboration with the nursing team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• North Dakota CNA license required.
• CMA I preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assists with ADLs—bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Assist residents with ambulation and therapeutic exercises.
• Observe and assist with medications under nurse direction.
• Read and record vital signs including temperature, pulse and BP.
• Provide nutrition and fluids; monitor intake.
• Conduct blood glucose testing and record results.
• Socialize with residents and participate in activities.
• Develop rapport with residents and families to understand needs.
• Document in resident records and contribute to care plan reviews.
• Comply with infection control policies and other duties as assigned.

Job description

Eventide Sheyenne Crossings is currently looking for a Part Time Universal Worker to either 7:00a - 11:00a or 7:30a - 1:00p, various week days with every other weekend.

The Universal Worker will provide safe personal care assistance to tenants. They will also perform cleaning, laundry and planning and implementation of activity program duties.

Ideal Candidate

• High School Diploma required
• A current North Dakota Certified Nursing Assistant license is required.
• A current Certified Medication Aide I is preferred or willing to obtain.

Essential Job Functions

• Assists with ADL's-bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Assist residents with ambulation and/or therapeutic exercises.
• Observe and/or assist with medications, ordinarily self administered. May give oral, trans-dermal patches eye drops, topical ointments and suppositories under the direction of the nurse.
• Read and record temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight.
• Provide adequate nutrition and fluid intake.
• Performs blood sugar testing and documents results.
• Socialize with residents. Listen, converse and participate in appropriate activities - reading mail, writing letters, etc.
• Develop a rapport with residents and families to develop an understanding of the residents' needs and interests.
• Document in resident records as instructed and in a timely manner.
• Participate in the development, implementation and review of resident's plan of care.
• Comply with infection control policies and procedures.
• Other tasks as assigned or instructed by a licensed nurse.
