Qualifications

  • Must communicate effectively in English, including medical terminology.
  • Ability to safely perform job duties with normal vision and hearing.
  • 6 months experience preferred for aide or caregiver.

Responsibilities

  • Assists seniors with daily living activities such as bathing and grooming.
  • Follows care plans and ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Administers medications under RN supervision if MA-40 certified.

Responsibilities




  1. Provides assistance with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, transferring/ambulation and continence.
  2. Assists with Senior/client admissions, discharges, transfers and orientation of new employees.
  3. Follows department protocol for submission of completed documentation.
  4. Prioritizes assignments, making adjustments throughout shift to meet frequently changing/ overlapping Senior/client/caregiver/TEAMember/manager needs, call lights, when necessary.
  5. Performs work duties within the assigned work environment related to the position, as assigned by Tabitha, regardless of TEAMember preference.
  6. Follows through on the comprehensive care plan/service plan as developed for each individual Senior/client.
  7. Complies with HIPAA regulations regarding privacy by insuring that Protected Health Information (PHI) is safeguarded at all times.
  8. Implements activities for the Seniors/clients.
  9. Prepares, plates and serves meals, snacks and other foods requested by/for/to Senior/client.
  10. Assists with cleanup of the dining room and is responsible for housekeeping and laundry duties as needed.
  11. Additional essential functions if utilizing MA40:
    1. Prepares and administers medications and treatments, under the direction of the RN, within scope of practice as ordered by the physician and according to facility policies/procedures.
    2. Evaluates emergency situations, performing CPR when necessary, based on training.





Qualifications




COMMUNICATION: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language including medical terminology related to the job.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to gain access to the work area and then safely perform the duties of the job. Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction). Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability of 50 - pounds, demonstrating strength and agility at Tabitha's discretion.

AGE REQUIREMENT: At least age 16.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 6 months experience as an aide or caregiver preferred.

Credentials: CNA certification in good standing as demonstrated by inclusion on the Nebraska State Registry required or, must be willing to obtain CNA certification within 6 months of hire. MA-40 certification preferred. If utilizing MA-40 certification, CPR is required. All certifications must be kept up to date at the expense of the employee. Must meet Tabitha's vaccination requirements.
