Scope of Job
Responsible for performing all related work responsibilities consistent with the standardized procedures and compliance requirements of the Bank. Accountable for processing customer transactions accurately and according to the customer service standards of the Bank. Identify customer needs for convenience services and referral opportunities for other services offered by the Bank and Financial Services. Make appropriate recommendations.
Primary Duties
- Actively greet each customer, determine their specific banking needs, and provide a single point of contact for transaction completion.
- Accurately process all customer transactions requested through the lobby, drive-up, or telephone, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier's checks, check cashing, credit card advances, savings bond redemption, check orders, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
- Support the completion of customer transactions, including night deposit and mail processing, ATM servicing and balancing, and individual teller drawer balancing.
- Provide customer service, perform account maintenance, and solve problems based on customer needs, including stop payments, funds transfers, balance inquiries, address or other information changes, account balancing, and support for debit cards and web banking.
- Open and close personal and business accounts, including checking, savings, deposit, and IRA/HSA accounts, and recommend additional services like web banking and debit cards.
- Identify opportunities to sell and refer other bank, trust, brokerage, and insurance products and services to new and existing customers.
- Seek outside the bank for new customer relationships through referrals and prospect identification.
- Recognize early signs of customer dissatisfaction and work to resolve issues to aid in customer retention, referring to staff or supervisors as needed.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- ABA Universal Banker Certification Program.
- Bank trainee or intern experience.
- Customer service experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to work dependently or independently under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust schedules.
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of banking regulations, terminology, and procedures.
- Proficiency with application software and learning new computer programs.
- Adherence to federal privacy standards and bank communication policies.
- Participation in increasing the bank's market presence is expected.
