Columbia Bank is seeking a Universal Banker in Staten Island, NY to provide a full range of retail banking services, both transactional and non-transactional, and to help customers with financial needs. The role includes account openings, cross-selling, and partner referrals within the branch.

The position requires 1–2 years of customer service experience, a high school diploma (or Bachelor’s in a related field), and strong verbal/written communication skills.

Formación

• High school diploma required or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance is preferred.
• 1-2 years of retail or customer service experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to work weekends as needed or scheduled.

Responsabilidades

• Processes all banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cashing checks, money orders, gift and Bank checks, loan payments, and safe deposit box rentals.
• Opens new deposit and checking accounts and explains products; handles deceased accounts; maintains files and documentation.
• Discusses personal financial needs with customers and makes product recommendations; cross-sells Bank’s services.
• Prepares daily proof sheet at close of business and assists with end-of-day closing procedures.
• Maintains accurate customer and account records, back-office work, and branch files.
• Makes referrals to Wealth Management and other departments as appropriate.
