Job Description

If you want to work for a progressive and diverse credit union focused on offering excellent customer service, we have an immediate opportunity for a Universal Banker (FSO) at our Celina location.

We are seeking an individual who is motivated to grow with our organization.

You will be responsible for:

  • Answering Incoming Calls: Responding to calls from credit union members, taking orders, addressing inquiries and questions, handling complaints, troubleshooting problems, and providing information. This is often part of customer service responsibilities.
  • Cross-Selling Credit Union Products: Promoting and selling various credit union products and services, with a focus on lending products such as loans and credit cards, to meet sales targets and enhance member relationships.
  • Paying and Receiving Functions/Teller: Processing various financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, issuing cashier's checks, money orders, and cash advances. Ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial regulations.
  • Balancing Transactions: At the end of each workday, reconciling and verifying cash totals and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  • Side-Jobs and Assisting Other Tellers: Performing specific tasks assigned by management and assisting fellow tellers with their duties as needed to maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Account Services: Opening and closing various types of accounts, such as individual retirement accounts (IRAs), checking accounts, savings accounts, and term share accounts. Resolving member account-related issues and inquiries.
  • Loan Application Processing: Receiving, reviewing, and submitting applications for consumer loans and debit/credit cards. Meeting with loan applicants to gather necessary information and documentation for credit decisions.
  • Credit Decision Making: Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information required for making credit decisions based on established criteria within the credit union's loan origination system.
  • Member Education: Providing information and guidance to credit union members about the services offered and assisting them in understanding their account options and financial products.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensuring that members and prospective members are promptly and professionally served and addressing their questions and concerns to enhance their overall experience with the credit union.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Six months to two years of related experience in a financial institution preferred; retail experience considered, especially with a strong focus on sales and customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with teller operations, policies, and procedures.

  • Basic knowledge of credit union structure and daily operations.

  • General understanding of financial products and services offered by credit unions.

  • Working knowledge of consumer lending practices, policies, and procedures.

  • Awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements related to lending, including proper loan documentation.

  • Experience supporting or processing credit union loan services is a plus.

Additional Information
