Summary: As the front-line client ambassador for Centier, the Universal Banker is cross-trained to provide a remarkable experience for clients. They understand client transaction requirements, communicate available options, educate clients, retain and deepen relationships, and recommend bank products and services. They assist with branch operations, including account openings, management, and financial service needs.

The role involves timely and accurate transaction completion, maintaining records, and handling client monies. It also includes participating in the sales process, implementing sales tactics, and acting as a financial guide for clients’ better tomorrow.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide high-quality service, perform client-requested transactions professionally and friendly.
2. Build rapport, identify needs, recommend solutions, handle objections, and solicit business.
3. Promote and advise on bank products, services, and digital channels.
4. Perform teller transactions such as deposits, loan payments, check cashing within limits, issuing money orders, and redeeming bonds.
5. Ensure cash drawer balances daily; identify errors if not.
6. Comply with BSA/AML/OFAC regulations, report suspicious activities.
7. Maintain confidentiality of client information.
8. Resolve client issues efficiently.
9. Assist with currency shipments, deposits, ATM balancing, vault management.
10. Support colleagues with drawer balancing and error resolution.
11. Engage in client onboarding, outbound calls for follow-up and sales opportunities.
12. Strive to meet individual and branch goals, report progress.
13. Maintain comprehensive product knowledge, update regularly.
14. Represent Centier professionally in community involvement and volunteerism; log hours.
15. Participate in personal development activities.
16. Identify opportunities to refer clients to specialists.
17. Perform promotional activities, maintain professional appearance, and adhere to policies.
18. Follow the company's mission, values, and standards in all interactions.

Additional Duties:

• Use independent judgment for risk management.
• Open and close branch facilities properly.
• Build strong relationships internally and externally.
• Assist in developing strategies to meet or exceed branch goals.
• Participate in and oversee the Servant Sales process.
• Counsel clients on financial needs, manage account openings and loan processes.
• Handle consumer loan applications through to completion or denial, with client communication.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Other duties as assigned, including mentoring and working flexible hours.

Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency with PC software: MS Windows, Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, social media, and bank systems like CSI NuPoint, IMM, Covalent, Power BI, Smartsheet.
• Attention to detail, proofreading, data entry, currency verification skills.
• Teamwork, problem-solving, consultative sales skills, adaptability to new technology.
• Ability to interact with business partners and train new associates.
• Experience in interviewing clients and managing account openings.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years banking or teller experience
• Strong service orientation and product knowledge
