Job Description: Universal Banker

Position Overview

The Universal Banker is responsible for a variety of branch activities, including transaction processing, new account sales, customer service, and referral generation. This role involves cross-training and focusing on both teller and platform sales tasks.

Under the supervision of an Assistant Bank Manager, Bank Manager, or Market Manager, you will assist customers by providing exceptional service, learning sales behaviors, and progressing through the banker roadmap and certification. Responsibilities include performing teller transactions, resolving customer issues, and proactively recommending Bank products to meet customer needs. You will also demonstrate digital banking options and complete required training and certification for promotion eligibility. Flexibility to work at multiple branch locations may be required.

Compliance and Regulatory Requirements

This role requires a credit check per 12 CFR Chapter X, Part 1026, and compliance with internal policies, laws, and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and S.A.F.E. Act requirements. You must maintain registration and meet registry requirements as directed.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and deepen customer relationships through quality conversations and matching needs with appropriate Bank products and services. Identify sales opportunities and refer customers to specialists as needed.
  2. Provide courteous, accurate, and timely customer service, including cashing checks, deposits, withdrawals, and handling loan and credit card payments. Look for opportunities to convert service activities into sales.
  3. Address customer questions and resolve account issues to ensure satisfaction. Conduct onboarding calls and follow-up with customers.
  4. Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and regulations, completing all required training and certifications.
Qualifications

Education: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

Experience: Less than 2 years in a sales and goals-based environment with strong customer service skills.
