Job Description Summary: Serve as a Research Nurse providing technical, clinical, and professional services within the SCTR Nexus Clinical Research Unit and satellite locations. Serve as a preceptor for new staff and provide leadership for daily operations. Strong phlebotomy and IV insertion skills are required.

Job Details:

• Manage comprehensive nursing care for patients with rapidly changing needs, from uncomplicated to complex cases. Document appropriately, serve as a role model.
• Provide timely, respectful, and dignified service. Respond to investigator and coordinator needs, ensuring quality care in line with research protocols. Lead quality assessment and improvement processes. Mentor staff in quality practices.
• Serve as a preceptor, developing orientation plans and documentation tools for new employees.
• Organize and prioritize patient care activities, evaluate nursing care effectiveness, and handle additional unit operations.
• Use research tools (SPARC, CWF, eIRB) to review and interpret research studies, and educate staff on study protocols.
• Support professional development and assist in training for Nexus Clinic staff nurses.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited nursing school, two years of related nursing experience, and licensure as a registered nurse in South Carolina. Basic Life Support certification required prior to completing orientation. Oncology, chemotherapy infusion, and pediatric experience are preferred.

Physical and Additional Requirements: Ability to perform various physical activities, lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, and work rotating shifts, overtime, and in stressful situations. Computer literacy required.
