Job Description
The James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina is seeking applications for a 20% faculty position in the Department of Reconstructive and Rehabilitation Sciences, Division of Predoctoral Prosthodontics.
Primary responsibility will be one day per week of clinical instruction for pre-doctoral dental students and may include AEGD residents. Successful candidates will be expected to have knowledge and clinical experience in all areas of operative and fixed prosthodontic restorative dentistry. Knowledge and experience with digital dentistry workflows is preferred, such as the Sirona/Dentsply Cerec system for scanning and milling. The position currently serves weekly on Friday, with digital dentistry in the morning and general dentistry in the afternoon. The faculty will work collaboratively within all disciplines of the department and other departments of the College of Dental Medicine in a comprehensive care environment. Participation in scholarly activities is expected.
Qualified candidates must hold a DDS or DMD degree. Previous AEGD/GPR certification is recommended. Experience in utilizing digital dentistry applications and use of technology in education and computer skills are expected. Preference given to those with previous teaching or comprehensive dentistry practice experience. Successful applicants should have or will attain a South Carolina Dental License or qualify and attain a teaching license. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. Participation in the Dental Faculty Practice for private patient care is anticipated.
