Job summary

Overture Games, LLC. is seeking a Unity Game Developer to prototype web-based Unity experiences for music education. This remote role emphasizes rapid prototyping for classroom testing, with 1–3 days per prototype.

You will collaborate with musicians, teachers, and developers, integrating audio and gameplay mechanics while iterating on concepts from student feedback. Remote work with Chicago-area preference is a plus.

Position Details

Pay: $40/hour

Role: Unity Game Developer

Location: Remote (Chicago area is a huge plus!)

Compensation: Paid trial contract with potential conversion to part-time

Hours: Flexible, with a focus on prototyping games for rapid testing in the classroom (1-3 days per prototype)

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop rapid prototypes of web-based Unity games designed to teach music.
  • Collaborate with a team of musicians, game developers, and teachers.
  • Integrate audio elements and gameplay mechanics into games.
  • Adapt and iterate on game concepts quickly based on student testing feedback.

    • Visuals

    • Refining gameplay experiences
Requirements
Must-Haves:
  • Strong programming skills in Unity (C#).
  • Passion for music education and experience playing a musical instrument.
  • Ability to quickly prototype and iterate on game ideas for student testing.
  • Comfort using AI tools to innovate and speed up the prototyping process.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset.
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience with audio integration, web-based games, or educational game development.
