Job summary

Overture Games, LLC is seeking a part-time Music Teacher in the Greater Boston Area for Fall 2025 through Spring 2026. You will deliver engaging after-school music lessons to groups of 5–12 students, ages 5–14, using our Harmony games and in-house technology to spark creativity and a love of making music.

The role emphasizes flexible hours 2–6pm, travel to community centers, and a collaborative, growth-minded team environment.

Qualifications

• CORI background check clearance required for working with children
• Must have car or easy access to public transit
• Available at least 3 days a week from 2pm to 6pm
• Experience working with children in a group, classroom or camp environment
• Can travel to Boston and surrounding suburb’s community centers and schools
• Must play a musical instrument

Responsibilities

• Teach classes for children: deliver engaging music lessons for 5-12 students aged 5–14 and foster a love for music
• Adapt and provide feedback to develop and improve the program
• Review lesson plans, games and technology to ensure the best musical experience
• Participate in training and ongoing professional development

Responsibilities:

• Teach classes for children:
  • Deliver engaging music lessons for 5-12 students tailored to specific age groups (5-14 years olds) and foster a love for music.
  • Two of our favorite games are from our Harmony class:
    • In a Kahoot style game we built, students guess chords and end up jumping up and down with excitement when they get them right.
    • Students vote on harmonies for a class composition and have a big dance party as they listen to their beats.
• Adapt and provide feedback:
  • Problem-solve in the classroom and provide fast feedback to develop and improve our program.
• Come Prepared:
  • Review our provided lesson plans, games and technology (developed in house) to make sure we create the best musical experience for our students possible.
• Participate in training:
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with teaching strategies and program content.
