Job summary

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital in Orlando, FL is seeking a Unit Therapist to conduct therapeutic services for patients, provide counseling to families, individuals and groups, and develop treatment objectives. You will serve as the primary contact and advocate for patients and families during the stay, coordinating discharge planning with the treatment team.

Responsibilities include biopsychosocial assessments, establishing treatment plans, and coordinating with community resources.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in social work, mental health counseling or related field.
  • One (1) year direct clinical experience specific to family, individual and group therapy with patient with psychiatric diagnoses. For specialized issues or treatment modalities, training must be specific to these; abuse reactive, sexual offending, substance abuse, sexual trauma, vocational, play therapy, art therapy and relaxation therapy.
  • Current license from the State of Florida, such as LCSW, LMFT, LMFTI, LMHC OR LMHCI preferred.

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. Central Florida Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents and adults; and partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient and ECT services for adults. Position Summary

The Unit Therapist is responsible for conducting therapeutic services for patients. They provide counseling sessions for families, individuals and groups.Unit Therapists are responsible for interviewing and developing the psychological history, assessing the therapeutic needs of the individual and family, developing appropriate treatment objectives and monthly treatment summaries.Unit Therapists act as the patients’ and families’ primary contact during the patient’s stay at the facility, as well as their advocate with the treatment team.Unit therapists are also liaisons with outside agencies and individuals for the purpose of developing and coordinating discharge planning with the treatment team and family
