Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Unit Software License Manager / Configuration Manager Support for the Tenants Contract, supporting the Air Force Division at the Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate's Integration and Operations Division (AFRL/RWOC) at Eglin AFB, FL.

JOB DETAILS

LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL

JOB STATUS: Full Time

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for the degree.
  • Experience: 3 Year's Experience. At least 2 years of experience in software license management, IT asset management, or a related field.
  • Security Clearance: Secret Clearance. Top Secret Eligible. US Citizenship is required.
  • Certifications:
    • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II
    • CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
  • Must possess a strong understanding of software licensing models, excellent organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Specific experience in DoD and USAF environments preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide advice and assistance as Unit Software License Manager/Configuration Manager (USLM/CM) to advise and assist with the legal, effective, and efficient management of all software assets within the Directorate.
  • The USLM/CM position will hold a critical dual role encompassing comprehensive software asset management and configuration management responsibilities.
  • Responsible for the full lifecycle of software asset management, including strategic planning and procurement support, thorough inventory and tracking, vigilant compliance monitoring, proactive optimization and cost control, deployment oversight, thorough documentation and reporting, and impactful training and awareness initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with Directorate personnel, contracting officers, and software vendors to ensure AFRL/RW possesses the necessary software licenses to fulfill its mission requirements while minimizing costs and effectively mitigating compliance risks. This includes forecasting and planning for software license renewals and new software purchases.
  • Utilize available software tracking tools and propose process improvements to continuously enhance software management. Simultaneously, as CM, advise and assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of system configuration management plans and procedures. This encompasses identifying and tracking configuration items, controlling and managing changes to those items, and ensuring all actions are properly documented and authorized.
