Responsibilities

• Provide clerical services to patient care units, including transcription of orders, filing reports, and coordinating transportation and follow-up tests.
• Answer and deliver messages by phone or in person.
• Maintain communication with Charge Nurse/House Supervisor.
• Handle paperwork in a timely manner.
• Order supplies from Materials Management as needed.
• Verify physician privileges before transcribing orders.
• Transcribe and flag orders from charts.
• Arrange transport for tests not offered in the hospital.
