Job description

St Francis is HIRING for a PRN Nights Unit Secretary for our Emergency Department.

The position will cover overnight shifts, working 7PM to 7AM as needed

The Unit Secretary through communication, requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment, coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, the patient, the physician, other hospital departments and visitors He/she performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent - Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtained within 6 months of hire
  • One year experience in clerical work preferred
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
