Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute is seeking a per diem Unit Secretary for our 38-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital operated jointly with Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, and Atlantic Health System. This position offers an opportunity to be a vital member of an interdisciplinary team caring for patients needing continued care for full recovery.

**What you will do in this role:**
- Ensure visitors are acknowledged promptly, direct them, and answer questions.
- Initiate and maintain medical records during a patient's stay, and close records upon discharge within the electronic medical record system.
- Follow up on doctors’ orders.
- Serve as unit receptionist, managing incoming/outgoing calls and visitor information.
- Interact regularly with hospital staff, physicians, visitors, patients’ families, and other personnel to exchange information.
- Contact with patients, including answering patient lights, fulfilling requests for non-care items, attending patient appointments, and working in the café. Maintain a professional, courteous, and helpful demeanor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma required; two years of college preferred.
- Computer experience required.
- Hospital setting experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with medical personnel, patients, and families.
- Excellent communication skills, with knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
**Hourly Rate:** $18.50 per hour.
